APT-GET trying to use proxy that isnt there

so i tried out squid proxy server. not what i really needed. ive changed all the settings back to the way they were before i installed squid. but apt-get is still trying to use the proxy. help please...

What do you get from running "ls /etc/apt/apt.conf.d" in a terminal?

Open the Synaptic Package Manager, go to the settings and check the proxy there.
