If you are looking for an alternative to cPanel, Plesk and the like, check this out;

http://www.ispconfig.org/

It provides HTTP, FTP, DNS, MySQL, Webalizer stats and more.

And here's a guide on how to set it up.

Hey there...

This post might now be too old - but can I run this with Plesk?

I have Plesk installed, and still find it limited in functionality, which is sad and frustrating at the same time since Plesk is not exactly cheap - I would have expected it to make cup of coffee as well.... Unless of course I just don't know how to do it.

Plesk has some silly issue - like when you would like to create a path to a specific folder in a domain like www.mydomain.com/dogs/index.htm it forces you to use its "Web Users" function which creates the URL like www.mydomain.com/~dogs.

Anyway... maybe I still need to learn, but can the above run with Plesk at the same time, and in fact I would also like to know if I can even add Webmin at the same time, perhaps running all three will provide the functionality required to someone that has not been on Linux all their lives, and is still keen to learn.

Thanks all

Cheers

Take a look at Froxlor (http://www.froxlor.org).

Has support for Debian and Ubuntu, including 10.04.

I'm a happy user :p
