View Full Version : [ubuntu] Can't connect to internet after restart

February 23rd, 2010, 09:24 PM
I just joined the forum and this is my first question, so please forgive any errors in protocol.
When Ubuntu 9.10 was installed recently on my computer a glitch appeared concerning internet connection. If I power up the computer and the wireless router/modem and boot Ubuntu, there is no problem with it making connection. However, if only the computer has been turned off (and not the router and modem) then it refuses to connect. This also applies to restarting Ubuntu. I have a dual OS set up with Windows 98 as the alternate and there are never any problems with it connecting. My connection is through Auto eth0. This computer is wired to the router and not using the wireless connection. The laptop which does connect via wireless has no problems connecting regardless of whether mine is working or not.
Any ideas among you knowledgable folks out there?
Thanks in advance.
