Which version of Savage should I play???

There is Savage 1 & Savage 2. Which one should I play???

Do i need to play the first one for the story, and does it matter. Whats the difference between the two games?

I never found that it mattered. I would just play Savage 2, it is a great game.

There is no story campaign, it doesn't matter which one you play ,though both do play very different. If you hate 2, try 1.

As mentioned previously, story doesn't matter. The story isn't important to the gameplay at all and if you read the stories you'll find that they're actually two different (but similar) continuities. For gameplay differences, savage2 is a bit faster paced and focuses much more heavily on melee combat. Savage1 is more RTS-ish and has greater emphasis on weapons. They're both fun games and I actually play both depending on my mood. My recommendation is to try them both out and see which one you prefer.

I definitely suggest you just try Savage 1 is better than compare the Savage 2.

The RPG marketing for S1 and S2 is fault and wrong, just ignore the RPG comments since the game really doesn't have anything RPG other than level and items much like counter-strike + levels based on kills and stuff.
