Massive hassle registering for the forums

I'm new to Ubuntu and needed some help.

I'm not sure what was going on last night, but I could not register for the
forums.

The problem: The registration page kept telling me that the image
I entered didn't match the image displayed. I tried about six times
with each new image and got the same message. I was running my
new Ubuntu install, but in desperation, I finally rebooted into W98
and came back in. After two tries, my entries were acknowledged.
(Very frustrating to have to register for this site in windows...)

I've registered on other sites with a similar mechanism with no problem.

I don't know if there's a way to check the image generator/matching
portion, but it's scary to need help and not be allowed to ask for it.
I'm really concerned about how many others simply gave up and moved
away from Ubuntu.

May I suggest an alternative registration path for anyone else having
similar problems?

I did succeed last night (eventually) - that's how I was able to post
