I don't have any printer on my system I just want to test the printing feature of an app. I've read that its possible but there is nothing on the printer list.

you have to set your app to print into a file, listen "your app" not wine.

I've tried configure the printer settings of the app. But there isn't anything listed on the Printer dropdown box. When I run the app on xp (same computer) I see an option to print it to an xps file. When I try to print on applications native on ubuntu there is an option to print to pdf.

when you print into a file, is this file created, search that name file with your file manager or look where are stored your documents.

maybe look at the logs to see what errors exist.

I haven't printed anything yet because I can't print to file. Here's what I'm trying to do on the windows app

* Print to file...error set up printer first
* Go to printer set up dialog. I see a dropdown of all the available printers and the list is empty...Result I can't set up a printer and I can't print.

What I wanted to know is how to get a print to file option on the dropdown of available printers.
