View Full Version : Erasing a duplicate post??

Yesterday I goofed and as the first time "submit new thread" button had been clicked, my powerbook had a temporary hickup. The page didn't update, so I though I hadn't posted. So I clicked the button again.

Now I see that there are two nearly identical posts. :(

I tried to edit and click the correction/delete button but I can't get it to delete the message.

What do I need to do to get rid of the duplicate message?

sorry ... I feel so stupid ... I think I need to hide for a while.

People do it all the time. Users are not allowed (for whatever reason) to delete their own posts so you would need to ask a mod or admin to resolve this issue. Really, it's no big deal.

I've merged your two posts into one. 'Twas no problem, don't worry about it :)

Why are users not allowwed to delete their own posts? :/

We've had abusing users who decide to delete posts just for the fun of rendering a discussion unconscious or to simply delete a thread (in the case of the first post). Can users blank out their posts? yes they can, but this is all we can do right now.

Next time you could just use the report bad post button and ask a mod to remove it or merge it, the name is really misleading it should be "request mod attation"
