i was wondering how this user fixed his problem:
" i upgraded to Hardy last night and installed gtkpod-aac....it worked like a charm!"

this thread can be found here:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=852590

my main question how was he able to "upgrade to hardy" and "install the gtkpod-acc" thing.

I am trying to be able to sync video to my ipod.

Thanks for any help.

Hardy was version 9.04. I have a Ipod Nano 4G and I havn't had any problems using gtkpod since Ubuntu 9.10 Intrepid.

He must have had a version of ubuntu that was prior to hardy that is an old thread. To install gtkpod-aac just open a terminal
Applications > Accessories > Terminal
and use:

sudo apt-get install gtkpod-aac
Hit Enter
Enter your password which wont be displayed and hit Enter
Wait for it to finish and it will be in
Applications > Sound and Video > gtkpod iPod Manager
