I say its time to impose a moratorium on CNR threads. The topic has been beaten into the ground so deeply that even Satan himself is getting disgusted with it.
Who's with me on this?

I think ONE thread would be cool.... if we could keep it truly a discussion about something other than conjecture and maybe discuss exactly the pros and cons as it relates to CNR and Linspire currently and whether we would want something like that on Ubuntu...
But I certainly bow to the higher powers and will abstain if directed :)

I am fed up of the issue. Until HQ releases something, then we should let it rest a bit.

had ONE thread.. reached 70+ pages and got locked
edit: but yes this topic needs to die.. I can't read anything interesting without having to skim through pages of CNR this and CNR that
please lets just not talk about it until it becomes available to us (if it becomes available to us)

I see my original post was closed, so I'll have to share my final thoughts here...
1. Thanks for all the input. I don't consider ANY of the input negative or otherwise, because I wasn't here to sell something we had built, but to ask if it was something that may be of use to Ubuntu users.
2. The input proved very helpful and I believe helped me decide how I'd vote on such an idea.
Thanks for all the great input, and constructive discussion.
Continued success in the great work you're doing here with Ubuntu. Hopefully I will get to meet some of you at the Desktop Linux Summit. And of course, drop by the Linspire forums anytime and say hi. I'm there posting regularly. And, of course, I'm always available via email, kevin at linspire dot com.

I've seen enough activity on it here and I don't even know what it stands for !

Yes it was nice. But like all things there is a time for rest and so CNR threads farewell and rest easy . Least we forget

yea because we shouldnt be able to discuss anything at a forum :)
I have concerns over some of the inconsistencies in Mr Carmonys posts but I guess I am doomed to just be concerned... :)

Yep, I think that's a very accurate description.
After all there weren't several topics on the question with hundreds if not thousands of posts.

with plenty of rants and raves and not much analysis and in depth questioning about the subject at hand...
Instead of just a yay or nay how about we dig into CNR and Linspire and see exactly what it is, how it works, and hear some of the "other side of the story" about CNR instead of just KC stating over and over that it wont be built in :)
I would like to know more ABOUT CNR and not just about whether free is a good thing or whether Mark Shuttleworth has a agenda and so forth...
I want indepth detail about CNR itself and Linspire itself to be able to make a more informed decision about whether I would consider CNR a good or bad thing! :)
But I will concede to the forum gods and whatever they say... :)
