I would love to donate to this forums bandwidth cost.
Unfortunately, i stay miles and miles away from paypal. Last time i registered an account with them, they literally raped my bank account. Probably some non-malicious error, but i lost 400 bucks to a charge i never made, to a site i had never been to, and through all my fights with pay pal, i never got that money back.
I'd love to help out, but i simply won't register an account with that company.

I'll check into another way for you guys to donate. I'd rather not accept checks/money orders but I am sure there is another method out there. I'll report back later today.

Well ... i look back 30 min later and there's an option for direct payment without a paypal account. Of course, it's with credit card, but that's fine.
I did a test donation of 5 bucks. I'll watch my bank statement and if all is peachy, i'll donate more. I'd still love to know an alternate method if possible. Thanks alot for looking into that Ubuntu-Geek :)

Same here. I'd like to donate, but credit card is in the hands of my dad. Doubt I can make him couph up. I think this forum deserves being paid. Thanks to it I know much more Linux than I started out with.
I'll try and donate by helping out in the forums, then.

Select custom payment and then there is a secure non paypalian way (i think)

Canonical had offered to pay for hosting and bandwidth fees. Has that changed?

I will donate in the following day.
I guess the ubuntuforums use a secure transfer so there should be no problem with sequerety right?
And do we get marked as donaters no matter the dollar donated?
And lastly, Will there come a status bar so we can see the progress?
I really would like that last one:)

A progress bar would be AWESOME!
Here's my issue: I'd like to donate, but I'm not really going to be able to donate money wise.. Is there any other way I could help ubuntuforums? I wish I could pay back everyone who has helped me!

hello!
my visa doesnt work... i am trying from germany. the error is, that my session is expired or something, but that can't be the real cause (i tried twice, the second time very fast)
Now, i dont want to try it again: maybe one of the transactions worked, and i don't want to donate more...

I can't get it to work either, I tried several times, but it says session expired and keeps asking me to log in, but no matter how many times I do, it still won't pay the funds.

I tried looking for the browser lock icon but couldn't find it. I'm not sure if it's because the paypal page is in a frame or something, but I am a little leery of putting my info out there without knowing if it is https.

I can send money by paypal, logging onto their site direct if I have an email address, as I did that for Ubuntu Linux , using their donation email addy.

I like that idea. :)
Paypal seems to be buggy today. I clicked the "donate ten dollars" link and it gave me a 404 error. I tried another and Paypal didn't recognize my perfectly valid debit card. Since it's registered to a Paypay account, I can't use this debit card without logging in. I don't have any other cards that I can use.
Is there any way I can just send a money order instead? =/
