I have 4 shows that are each 1 hour in length. That should fill a DVD, so now I'd like to burn them. I saw that dvdauthor is included with mythbuntu 9.10 but I'm wondering if I can first clean up these shows to improve the video quality? They are a bit grainy and I want to smooth out the pixels so it looks clearer.

Sure, you can run whatever software you like on the file. What programme were you thinking of using? avidemux works quite well for this sort of thing and can be scripted.

Hi there,
Avidemux is the best tool I have come across for that sort of thing. If you dont need the DVD to play on a regular DVD player I would re-encode to something like an XviD or something.
Just my two cents :)

I've installed avidemux just now. I'll read through the man page and give it a go.
