VMware 7.X Workstation and Wine

Am running Liniux Ubuntu 9.10 on a Compaq Presario V6500

When i try to install Vmware it keeps crashing when it opens? any ideas

VMWare Workstation (http://www.vmware.com/products/workstation/) has a native Linux installer - use it.
