Learn program

Hi

I want to start program on Linux but which language and GUI to start with there is two choice C/GTK+ or C#/GTK#
is it better to start with C/Gtk+ and learn everything from ground and then go up to C#/GTK#
I have looked at Python/PyGtk but I dont understand python it feels hard to learn

C and C# are very different languages. Python is probably easier to learn than either of these.
