Hi Everyone. I'm in the process of converting to Linux full time, but I have two games that are currently stopping me from going over full time. One, WoW (I'm working on that one even as we speak), and the other is EVE-Online.

Has anyone out there tried to run EVE under Wine? If so does it work without mods, or does it require some reworking first.

Any info or help on this would be much appreciated. My goal is to be Windoze free before summer rolls around, so the sooner the better.

P.S. once I get WoW up, I will try to do a straight port over under wine. I'll let you know how it goes.

OK, I decided to go ahead and install EVE on my computer. I got it to install, but when I run it, as soon as it goes to the EULA and login screen it comes up with this huge error. I haven't been able to find the error log yet, but once I do, I'll post the error. I think it might be a graphics or video error, but I'm not certain.

I've gotten it to work quite well using Cedega. I haven't patched it yet since they got the new hardware, but it was quite painless. On Cedega's forums a guy was trying to get Eve to work just under Wine, but there were plenty of problems with syscalls iirc. Oh, and I'm using Ubuntu, not Kubuntu, but I don't see that there would be much of a difference.
