View Full Version : [SOLVED] Convert .odt file to .doc

Last night, I was preparing a document in OpenOffice with the plan to send it to someone today. I would ordinarily have saved the file as .doc in OO, but I think I must have been overly tired, as the only version on my memory stick this morning is .odt. D'OH!!

As it's turned out, I can't get to my Ubuntu PC today and the only ones I can access are Windoze on which I do not have permission to install any prog, not even OO.

So, is there any kind-hearted peep who could do me a favour? (PDQ would be good!) Please send me a PM saying you're happy to help. I'll send you the .odt file by return. If you could load it into OO and save it as .doc and then attach it to a return PM to me, that would be great.

Alternatively, if someone knows of a web utility that can translate the contents of .odt into .doc, .rtf, or even .txt, that would be great.

Sorry, but as often happens, as soon as I ask a question I find the answer on my next Google search!

I used this (http://www.freefileconvert.com) online utility, which seems to work quite well.

Glad you're sorted, there is a plugin for MS Office that allows import (read & write) of .odt ect files.
