I'm just wondering if there is some version of Cedega or Wine that is still compatible with the first Sims game?? I think it's awesome that they ported it, but I'm not in the mood to play the Sims 3, since I'm on a DELL Mini 10v. Most basic games work very well on this thing, so I figure the first Sims should be relatively simple.

If nothing else, does someone know where I could buy this ridiculously old OS?

Hi. Have you tried dosbox?

Um, I'm talking The Sims. Not SimCity or nuffin' like that. This first Sims is 3d, utilizing DirectX I believe. Or maybe even software rendering.

Eh. I guess I could just test it in Wine and submit some detailed bug reports.

I have this game and i got it running some months ago under Ubuntu 8.10 x86.

I had to use Cedega 4.4.

I made a how-to (german) here: http://www.holarse-linuxgaming.de/wiki/sims_linux
