Why Im not getting subscribed thread email notifications?

I have double checked that the thread subscription is set to instant email notification. I revised my email address and I never get emails when a new reply is added to a thread.
Do I need to do something special or set a hidden setting somewhere?

Sorry for not mentioning how it was solved. What I did what change the email to another account. Both were gmail accounts. But as soon as I changed email I started to receive notifications.
