Ubuntu Logo Update

I have never been a fan of the current Ubuntu logo so have spent some time coming up this, my own version. I simplified the Ubuntu community message (holding hands) and streamlined the edges and curves to compliment the logo's font type.

All criticism welcome! Please note I have no ambitions to replace the old logo I just want to spark a debate about the current one being rubbish! :twisted:

If I may be frank: eeewww! :rolleyes: It's a little too, ah, glossy. I think. It wouldn't look good all around, if you know what I mean...

Although the current logo does look rather "stiff" for the stylish text, I still like it better than yours. I like your idea of making the edges softer, however.

Robtotheb, could you make this look 3D? I just wipped it up quick... Its REALLY ugly. Just want to see it in 3D... Like yours.

It's a very corporate look.

I don't think it conveys the philosophy behind Ubuntu. The current logo is a little more modular, as in you can add a little extra, such as Kubuntu with the gears, Xubuntu with the mouse, yet, it is still easily recognizeable with a family resemblence.

Rob, although it looks nice, I'm going to have to pass. Maybe you can create an offshoot like Yubuntu :) and use that as a logo.

It is a nicely done logo... and though I'll use any logo that appeals to me... something like this would likely never be an option... mostly for one little detail:

The Ubuntu logo is a modified version of the Canonical... corporate branding... go figure...;)

I like the current logo, and these are cool as well. I like the fact that you saw something you were not crazy about and changed it!
