Hi all, When I first installed 9.10, grub booted directly to ubuntu 9.10. I have no other OS on the computer. Now I get all these choices which I don't want. I followed the instructions from "Grub 2 basics" http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1195275&highlight=grub+basics post and I still have to select. It also states wherein that it has a bug with setting the default OS.

I'm guessing that this was an upgrade, one I could do without. Is there any way to revert back to the previous version of Grub?

Thanks

I don't know if the old grub can handle ext4. But if you used ext3 for the file system then it should be possible. Removing the grub system in 9.10 might be a problem though.

Thank You for the response. I have the Ext4 file system, whatever that is. So I guess I'm stuck.

What I do not understand is why I was able to boot directly to Unbuntu for about a week, and now have to select which kernel or which kernel recovery mode or mem test I'll use?](*,)

thanks anyway
