Holy crap!
Running Kubuntu 5.10 and the ATI drivers 8.22.5, I swear that I'm getting better performance than I was in Windows XP! I have a Radeon Mobility 9700, 128MB.
SuperTux runs at 95 fps, ppracer at 65 fps, and WoW looks amazing with Wine 0.9.9. Seriously, I've never seen it run so smoothly. Is it possible that the ATI drivers for Linux are decent these days?!

Well I'm getting lower loading time under cedega and generally faster speed (as in actual speed, not frame rate). It may be also caused by the cleaner Linux setup than my XP...

Definately. I saw huge jumps in my Q3 performance. I was playing on a server with a 200 ping one day! NO LAG! Its gotta be the fact that theres no random programs running in the background....
Hey robinl is cedega worth the money? BF2 is the only reason I still have Windows installed. :/

Hmm....I couldn't get my drivers to install properly, and I followed the ati driver install to the letter. Would be nice to be able to use my 500 dollar video card with linux.....lol. I just installed Kubuntu 5.1 so I am new to this. I suppose I should have come here first, but you live and learn. Any tips are welcome guys..

I would take it is a x1800 or above. The current linux drivers do not support I believe x1600 and up
