I would like to take an .wmv file (or .mp4), edit the audio on it, and turn it into an MP3 clip without having to use multiple programs. Is there an editor that can do this?

Thank you in advance

Dont think so... I'd use cinelerra to edit & extract the audio to ac3 and then ffmpeg to convert the audio from ac3 to mp3

winff can convert from video to any sound format but you can't edit, it can be found in software center.

there are various sound editors you could use, here's one

http://rezound.sourceforge.net/

audacity is another editor you may be able to find searching software center.

Thank you both and sorry about the delayed response. I found kdenlive was able turn video into audio but the sound was distorted at the beginning of every clip cut. Buffer prob? Who knows. But I'll try the soundforge link. The ffmpeg thing looks too complicated.

Thank you
