I am running Ubuntu 9.10.
Today the Update Manager indicated that there was an update available for Skype. But, in the middle of the installation, I get an error message. Here is the output:
(Reading database ... 274767 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace skype 2.1.0.47-0medibuntu2 (using .../skype_2.1.0.81-1_i386.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement skype ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/skype_2.1.0.81-1_i386.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/share/icons/skype.png', which is also in package skype-common 0:2.1.0.47-0medibuntu2
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/skype_2.1.0.81-1_i386.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
I don't understand what the problem is, nor what I should do next. Please help. Thanks.
