I've read a lot about people yielding mixed fortunes when it comes to playing games on Cedega, specifically that ATI drivers aren't up to the job.

Has anyone had any astounding successes using a high-end nVidia card...?

I have a Dell XPS M170 with a GeForce 7800 GTX and want to play FarCry and NFSMW. (I've been very busy lately and not got round to trying things out for myself... yet. But in the meantime, I was wondering if anyone actually has...)

I don't have a "high end" nVidia card (it's a Ti4200), but I have always had good success running games under cedega.

I have a 6200 and a 6600 in my machines, and have never had any graphic issues with Cedega. I haven't tried Farcry yet, though it should work fine. NFSMW I don't have. Not much of a racing fan.

Just out of interest, what Windows games are you playing on Cedega...?

I assume they play as well as they do on Windows...?

At the moment:

EverQuest - runs great
World of Warcraft - texture loading is a tad slower, otherwise perfect
Command & Conquer - runs great, no network due to IPX requirement
C&C Red Alert - runs great, no network due to IPX requirement
Diablo 2 LoD - can't play LAN games, otherwise perfect.

Only 2 of those are really 3D. Other 3D games I might install all have Linux ports (Doom, Quake, UT, etc.).

Hello :-)
Is it easy to install games with Cedega, or does it require a lot of configuring etc. like wine ?

Very easy, Cedega 5 now comes with Point2Play built in making it very easy to install and play. You can download a free trail from http://www.transgaming.com

Guild Wars via cedega 4.4.3 will play great on your machine! See here for the story:

You can install ut2k4, most quakes, doomes, ET, & other top line games that are made to install natively on Linux. All of which will run as fast as on windoze, if not faster.

I have no other cedega experience apart from GW, as that's all I need at the moment! :KS
