More info on the card would help. There are a variety of Creative cards that use that chipset module. There are some that are made by Rocketfish the in house Bestbuy brand that have no support in Linux whatsoever. The last one I found out the hard way.

Is it an actual Creative card or a third party? Is it one of the rarer on board sound models? If an actual Creative what is the family of cards it is from, and the model in the family.

We need to know these things.
