I need to make a powerpoint using ubuntu and then convert it so that I can present it in windows xp.

From the synapse I downloaded programs - pptview, ppthtml, and cat dog. Now in Office I have open office presentation and powerpoint viewer? Will one of these work to make the powerpoint presentation?

Are there any other programs that I need to download?

How do I convert it? Save as pdf?

hello, the way i would do it is using open office presentation. Inside the program you will see the adobe pdf icon where you can easily convert it.

You could also select export as pdf from the file menu.

Hope that helps

Why the need for powerpoint or pdf files ?

You could create the presentation with OpenOffice.org Presentation, and show the same presentation on windows using OpenOffice.org Presentation , (it is cross platform and is available for Windows as well as Linux.
