Freecraft - Stratagus - It's in drapper, but do I really need to add the drapper repos in order to install or is there a version for jaunty or karmic? Let me know thanks!

Well, I'm not sure if this is appropriate, but I want to say: Same Problem for me. In fact I allready tried to install stratagus (to compile it from source) and failed. The major Problem seems to be that some libraries needed to install Stratagus (and therefore Wargus and Freecraft too) are missing in Karmic (Ubuntu 9.10) - if I try to install those with apt-get, it is telling me that some other package is replacing it.... but unfortunately Stratagus does not know the replacements and fails to compile :-( If anyone has a clue how to bring Starcraft and Warcraft II back to live in Karmic: please help :-)

I'd love to see a package for this but so far I found zippo. The source didn't compile cleanly and I haven't spent the time to figure out why. Running 8.04 Ubuntu and own several copies of Starcraft. I'd LOVE to get it working without using Crossover games or Wine. But it works very well in that environment so I haven't been terribly motivated to look into it. But maybe someday...

You can get the old starcraft & warcraft working in wine & you can even "just" get starcraft 2 working, although its a bit stuttery. do a search here for "starcraft + wine". wine's improved heaps from a few years ago
