VideoLAN Movie Creator or vlmc. Didn't read anything about it here, but it looks like an interesting project for those of us still waiting for a good Linux Video Editor that isn't as complex to use as Blender's VSE.

This can be built now under Karmic Koala by using a guide I have written:

Howto: Build the development version of vlc under Ubuntu

The guide caters for the 32bit Karmic only at the moment...
