1) after 'locking' an object (so you don't end up dragging it with the mouse when you're trying to select a group of things on top of it) is it possible to unlock it again? Since it's no longer selectable with the mouse, it's a bit catch 22.
I've tried selecting all with the mouse then inverting the selection. Didn't work.
That was my background. I've worked around it by simply drawing a new one on top of it.
2) Is it possible to type text in a box, so that it automatically wraps? Justifying would be nice too.

You could work around "1)" by using different layers (you can lock layers),
anyway, I would guess there's an unlock all button somewhere...

Layers, of course. :D why didn't i think of that?
anyway, I would guess there's an unlock all button somewhere...I haven't found one yet. The nearest I got was selecting all, then deselecting one by one all the other objects till it looked like all I had selected was the locked one, then Object Properties from the menu, but it was blank. Like nothing was selected. :-k
Thanks. I'll do the layers thing instead.

Unlock an object
1. you have to go to XML Editor
2. then find and select the locked object in XML editor
3. now as the Object is selected you can go to that objects property and unlock it
I am not sure about you second question, you can go to text & font dialog there are some justification options.

XML editor... i didn't know about that. Thanks.
The text dialog box has left, right and centre but no justify. Apart from flowing text into a frame which isn't ideal, I guess I'll just have to break the lines manually. That's a pain if i decide to increase the font without wishing to increase the width.
Still learning, all good fun! :-)
