recently i'm switching over many functions like this over to and ubuntu server so the whole house doesn't have to be on my computer

i've been in terminal with the alsamixer and my Line In is maxed out

I'm having the exact same problem. Ubuntu shows that it is receiving sounds, but nothing is coming out.. reminds me alot of Windows Vista (vista had same problem) >.> worst piece of crap i ever tried lmao.

here so a dummy question here you check the connections

the line-in should be blue
the mic should be reddish

which one do you have it plugged in to?

if you plugged in to the mic is it muted?

sorry I had to ask :(

good luck and have fun learning

yeah the line in is plugged into the blue, and as you can see from my screenshot it's deff not muted

i did try plugging it into the mmic to see if i can get it to play through there, but the same problem of it not playing
