No signal problem with lcd tv monitor

Using 9.04 I am currently having a problem where my lcd tv gives a 'No Signal' message when I try to use it as a monitor. I'm fairly confident that the graphics card (a Radeon 9600) is not at fault as connecting to an old standard monitor works. My current setup has worked using older Ubuntu versions 8.04 for example, but refuses to work now.

I am not able to see what could be missing from an xorg.conf file below that was produced using the commands quoted.

Can anyone give any clues or pointers as to how I can resolve this.

You didn't say, but if your TV is a Samsung, then this is apparently not uncommon. You will need to add a Modeline to the Monitor section of your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. Here's a list of some:

You might also find one by searching for your TV model number + "Modeline". Alternately, I've heard that HDMI doesn't need this - if your TV and video card both do it.
