View Full Version : [kubuntu] i was wondering where to install a program

i wanted to download vuze and i went to there site and got the archive for vuze it downloaded to downloads. i extracted it, and now the readme files say start the file named azeurus i understand that much but is it like windows where i can run the setup from where ever i downloaded it to and it will be installed in its specified root directory?

vuze is available in software centre, why not get it from there?

System>Administration>Synaptic package manager
Type the program you are looking for and then right-click mark for installation. Hit apply and you're done.

thank you everyone, i ended up typing in "software" in the search field in the app launcher and it came up with Software Manager (kpackagekit) so thank you all, now my next task is to figure out how to apply the update or vuze that i have to download from the vuze site itself
