messed up HDD?

ok, I have 2 HDDs in my computer (master/slave)

just today when I started my computer and tried accessing my slave HDD (photos, music, whatnot) my computer crashed after I enter in the authorization password.

I thought that was weird, shut down my computer, restarted, tried accessing it again and it crashed. I'm getting a little scared that the HDD is fried or something cause I have a lot of important stuff on there.

any advice would be grand.

nvm, I took my computer apart and actually cleaned the hard drive... it works now
