Hi

I am relatively new to ubuntu. and very new to audio processing.
I have 8.04 LTS on my laptop.

I want to have some basic C based program where I can play around with mp3 file (or in fact any other format). I would like to do some basic processing with them.

I am sure that some basic program will be available where I can enhance them /customize them in future as per my needs.

Any help is appreciated.

If you're looking for something basic but nice, try mhWaveEdit.
Also check out my signature.

Note: I'd recommend upgrading to karmic and installing lastests versions from, for example, this ppa (https://launchpad.net/~philip5/+archive/extra). At your own responsibility, as it's due to say ;-)
