So I was steered toward this board due to the onboard HDMI for my new BTPC (Bedroom Theater PC).

I mistakenly assumed video AND audio over HDMI would both work.

Initial Karmic install went swimmingly, but no sound.

Found a few "how-to's" for installing ALSA, and borked my setup. Twice.

Tried going back to a Jaunty install so I had an easier switch of sound devices, but did not work.

Just upgraded to latest and greatest BIOS. No dice.

I have utilized the search function and found no clear solution. Figured I'd be THAT GUY and ask again...

Anyone solved this?

I have this board too. Did you ever get an answer to your question?

I had actually given up on using Ubuntu on that HTPC after not getting it working. I ran windows 7 on it until I eventually sold it.
