Hi, I use a Dell Inspiron 1150 and it has a network cable + Wifi.

In the past, when I had Windows, I used my laptop at home on the cable and when I'm at work it auto-connects via a USR MAXg access point. At both places, I have an Ubuntu server. At home, I use Wimax via a network switch and at work I use ADSL via a network switch.

My problem:

After installing Ubuntu, I have to run pppoeconf every time I switch my location. Also, the Access point can't seem to connect to the Net on Ubuntu... I'm certainly missing something.

On Windows, I had to just turn on my computer and the environment (cable or wireless) is detected. Then I had two shortcuts to Wimax and ADSL on my desktop to go online.

Is there a way to simplify this situation?

I'd really appreciate any advice.

Many thanks!
