Also, do make sure you pick the lincity-NG package, not plain lincity ;)

Second life Linux client is in beta, you'll probably find it at icculus.org but it's supposed to still be quite buggy.

The Sims has been ported to Linux, sort of. It's one of those Wine-ports that transgaming did at one point. Works all right although it's missing the per-user configuration features some people like. You can only get it as part of the old Mandrake Linux Gaming Edition box and it comes in an rpm but is relatively easy to install on any distribution.

And Lincity isn't a Sims equivalent, it's a SimCity equivalent and Simutrans is a Transport tycoon deluxe equivalent. :P

Here is a link to the forum
[link (http://forums.secondlife.com/showthread.php?t=91125)]

There is a link on top there where to download the client. Second Life isn't like the sims . . . ok ok, its is LIKE it, but its also alot different . . . any how, I played the sims for a long time, and now I am obsessed with Second Life. Just imagine the sims with no boundaries.I started another post about the game here.[link] (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=143226&highlight=Life)

When I think of The Sims , I think of Virtual Universe [http://www.3dchat.org/].

Its not nearly as directed as something like the Sims but enjoyable none the less.

well, if SimuTrans counts as Sims-like, then OpenTTD definitely makes you REAL addict ;)
