hello friends,
i got 80 GB samsung had and in first 15 gb i have install ubuntu 9.10 and i want to install fedora 12 on this hdd. when i have tried to install fedora it erase previous ubuntu and install fresh fedora i have lost my ubuntu. now friends would you please explain in detail that how can i install multiple linux destro on single hadd? i wanted to install ubuntu 9.10 on primary 15 gb and fedora 12 on next 15 gb and rest i wanted backup.

This is a guess, since I have not tried Fedora:

If you boot with a Gparted live CD, you can partition the drive as you please. After that you can install Ubuntu and Fedora.

Ubuntu needs at least two partitions: Root and swap.
