I am using Ubuntu Karmic and I want to share my internet connection with my wireless device.
My machine is a desktop PC running Ubuntu Karmic 64bit. It is connected to the network (and internet) by a Wired connection. It also has a wireless card in it (it is a wireless card on the motherboard).
I used the Network Manager to "Create New Wireless Network..."
Here is where the trouble comes in.
If I create it with None for security, it creates fine and I am able to connect from the wireless device. But I want security on this connection, so other machines can't connect.
If I select either of the WEP options it tries to connect for awhile and then displays a prompt to enter the WEP key. Entering the same key I used to create it fails and tries to connect again, then gives me the prompt again.
If I select "WPA & WPA2 Personal" the network creates fine and connects. I am able to connect to it from my wireless device. But it acts as an unsecured device from the external device and I am able to connect without entering a login.
How am I able to set this up and require WPA2 security?
