View Full Version : [xubuntu] Qmmp + MPlayer Plugin

I've installed Qmmp media player on Xubuntu 9.10, using deb packages from here https://launchpad.net/~stiff.ru/+archive/qmmp-releases/+build/1350751. It works fine as an audio player, but also says that it supports video playback via Mplayer, and comes with a plugin called libmplayer.so. I assume this means that Qmmp can act as a graphical front end for playback on Mplayer, so I also installed mplayer-nogui, and put the contents of the binary codec package into /usr/lib/codecs.

But I've no idea what to do next. I'd like to be able to play video files through Qmmp, and for DVDs to play on insertion, but I can't find any documentation about how to setup these two applications to work together.

Any help would be appreciated.
