View Full Version : [ubuntu] 9.10 version fails to start

Ok i upgraded via the upgrade under system admin a while ago from 9.04 to 9.10.
However i have a reoccurring problem when starting up.
It will go into loads op arrows across the screen<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Then says something failed and needs to start maintenance shell
Type control D to bypass this.
Then says something failed
and every other time stops
So i reboot go through all that again and it loads up
Your help please its driving me up the wall

Type control D to bypass this.

Looks like you need to run a HDD check. Open a terminal, and give the command
sudo touch /forcefsck Then reboot normally. Your computer should run an automatic harddisk check.

Post back any specific error messages if the problem does not clear up.

Note that there is a (tiny) possibility of data loss during the fsck run, so your do this at your own risk.

Eject any discs present in your CDROM drive.
