View Full Version : Texmaker problem

I'm proud two-day user of Ubuntu, so you can safely assume I don't know anything about it. So, I'm trying to go Ubuntu, and have to find some way to get my papers done in texmaker, like I did in Winedt.
Problem is, I tried to build .pdf from an old .tex file just to test it (and it worked just peachy in winedt), and - voila! - "Unable to make document: error opening file - no such file or directory". I didn't use anything fancy - just babel, fancyhdr and graphicx packages. I didn't install anything except texmaker, so I don't have any other packages, except the ones included in it.
Does anybody have an idea? Thanks a bunch :)

Hi,
I have the same problem in ppc. A workaround is to pass an argument to the application texmaker. For instance, typing "texmaker unused" won't generate the exception. Whereas "texmaker" alone systematically produces the exception.

Didn't I tell I don't know anything about Ubuntu?
I have some questions: what's a ppc? what argument? where to type it? and I don't understand your example? what exception and what's the difference?
Can you please explain what I have to do in simpler terms? Like I said, I'm complete newbe :)
