Hi folks,
I had some fun with The Gimp (I am a novice using it), and I would like to have some opinions about this:

What a nice idea, but the edges of the logo have not enough AA and it doesn't look like chalk.

I don't know the meaning of AA, but I think I understand your point. As I said, I am a begginer with the usage of Gimp, so I used it's clonning tool to copy the hand texture of Einstein and apply that to the Ubuntu logo.
My idea is inspired by this webpage tool:

I encourage anyone, with more expertise using "The Gimp", to do other versions, using Ubuntu as the main topic. :)
Thanks to everyone for your comments.
Regards!.

Neat! The logo needs to look more like it was drawn in chalk though.
Anti-aliasing is a technique to take away the jagged edges of (typically 3d, or vector) objects by taking the image of them at a high resolution then downsampling them to the current resolution; thus smoothing the edges of the object so they're not so jagged.

AA stands for anti-aliasing and zeroangel said what it was. Basically it's the thing that loses the pixelly edges on the ubuntu logo.

Looks good, I am new to using GIMP as well. So far I really enjoy using it. :)

It would also be more convincing if the shadow from his arm showed on the logo.
