Your recent topic indicating procedures for fixing Ralink 2870 chipset issues that lie within the 9.10 Karmic release was a GODSEND to me and I am sure it will be to others as well. I just now finished removing 9.04 on my HP s3020n and replacing it with 9.10. Using YOUR procedures, I no longer have an issue with access point connection, although I will admit that 9.04 probably had a greater degree of sensitivity to access points. I used the 2.300 release of the Ralink drivers from the ' ralinktech.com ' site.
I'm using this topic to recommend that your procedures be made into a STICKY and strongly recommend everyone having an issue with 9.10 wireless problems to at least take the time to find out if 9.10 has properly incorporated their ra0 chipsets into the 9.10 firmware. In my case, they were not, and I am sure on many thousands of other computers they were not also.
Thank you, especially for the time you took to research and write up your procedures. You got hair, my friend.
