Hello,
If I have a question, and I think it can fit in "Absolute Beginners Forum" and the "Ubuntu 5.10 Support (GNOME) Forum", shouldn't I post in the forum with the biggest audience, so that my question gets the best chance to receive a solution?

If so, does the Beginners Forum have less viewers than the Ubuntu 5.10 Support (GNOME) Forum?

What would you do if you had a question that could fit in either forum?

to be honnest it dosent really matter, however strictly speaking the "Absolute Beginners Forum" is for people that have never used ubuntu ever, but that rule gets bent all the time so I would go with "Ubuntu 5.10 Support (GNOME) Forum" just because of that rule, but again it dont really matter

As for the biggest audience I think most people that are likley to help you check both so that point is really moot.

In my opinion, the Absolute beginner forum has more traffic.

I think that a lot of the stuff there is not absolute beginner stuff, though, which scares away the real absolute beginners (for example, someone who calles their computer case a "hard drive").

Some people think that a linux absolute beginner is someone in their second year of computer science....

To me, you shouldn't have to care what your components are called to get help.

I pushed the on button on my hard drive and nothing happened what do I do?

Maybe the Absolute beginner forum, should be split into the computer beginner forum, and the linux beginner forum?

If the problem is simple enough to be considered "a beginner question", it doesn't matter if you've used ubuntu since day 1. And like azz said, the Beginner forum does get more traffic because that's mostly where some of our users go to help out.

Don't bet on it happening. We're not obliged to cover everyone's needs ever. It's called beginner forum, not computing begginer nor ubuntu begginer. Period.

just and idea, thinking out onto the keyboard, not really a request just an idea.

However We're not obliged to cover everyone's needs ever we are not but I think one of the reasons that this community is so successfull is because we do try are best to help everyone!
