I get this error when I try to run Warcraft III -opengl

err:opengl:X11DRV_ChoosePixelFormat glXChooseFBConfig returns NULL (glError: 0)

It happens when I run Warcraft III in 32 bit color on with a 24 bit color depth in xorg.conf.

When I try having Warcraft in 16 bit and Kubuntu in 24, I get a different error saying that that there were not enough permissions to allow going from 16 BPP to 32 BPP.

Warcraft works well when have both the game and Kubuntu set at 16 bit (some animation issues but overall very good - especially after fixing the sound).

Any help as to the cause of the error? I really don't like switching depth because 24 bit is so much nicer.

EDIT: Using Wine 0.9.8 from WineHQ btw.

Im not sure if this is the type of solution that youre looking for, but I know that warcraft III runs fine with cedega. Ive never had any issues with having to change any color settings or anything like this while using cedega. If youre willing to pay a little bit of money Ive found that warcraft runs better in cedega than it did in windows.
