I can bet that the election wouldn't go with Linux this time, because COMELEC has yet to confirm that they will use uCLinux publicly via media and they still don't have a solution to the "Known Issues" part.

If they have problems regarding computer hacking, why not get NAMFREL to help out, or at least re-establish NAMFREL (I heard that they're already gone) or hire us and see to ourselves that we watch the computers from being hacked? Also disabling remote login is manageable. Also, NAMFREL doesn't have to know the password too, but at least they can watch who approached the computers, who carried the paraphernalia, etc.

I'm sure Linux won't get chosen this next election. They need to evaluate. I'm so sad regarding my own opinion. But that is reality.

Most items marked by (BAD) are general to all OSes (like internally rigged or remote logins) and should Philippines embrace automated elections, we should also consider the downside of it comparing it to manual elections.

Hindi pa rin pala tapos...akala ko tapos na rin...makakahabol pa ba 'to on election day???

There were no changes on the automated election. if there was, wouldn't you catch it in the news? ;)

Could it be possible that GNU/Linux user groups have the authority supervise the automated election? Say, make sure the election officials/machine users know what they are doing -- kind of like GNU/Linux tech support.

I know COMELEC will conduct some trainings but it surely would be a different situation on election day.

IIRC, I think I read something about CenPEG, in coordination with Philippine Linux User Group, trying to form a group that would be similar to NAMFREL?!?
