Hey guys,

I have UNR 9.10, and I was trying to merge my "Graphics" category with my "Sound and Video," putting them in one new menu, a "Multimedia" category, in order to save screen real estate (small netbook).

Long story, short...

I ended up deleting both my "Graphics" and "Sound and Video" menus, and now they do not show up in the netbook-launcher, which is a major pain.

I was wondering how to get them back to way they were. I know that I could probably rebuild them from scratch within alacarte, making new menus and items, but I don't want to do that because I may not remember all of the programs/commands. "Revert" in alacarte does nothing to help me. I was thinking maybe if there were a way to reinstall all of the programs within a category, then they might show up again? But I could fing no way to do that.

Thanks in advance!

Additional Detail:

Reinstalling a program under the "Graphics" Category did not restore the menu.

EDIT:

Another detail:

I've reinstalled alacarte as well, but there was no change

Complete removal of alacarte, ubuntu-netbook-remix, and netbook-launcher then re-installation did not change it either.

Thoughts? Anyone? Please?

Thanks...

I'm having a similar problem, when I upgraded to ubuntu 9.10 lost my Sound & Video menu
have no idea how to get them back :(

Edit: revert worked for me, the menu was hidden on wine's menu, that I deleted after deleting wine.. dunno how it got there though
so my advice use revert and search

Ah, my apologies for not updating this thread.

My alacarte's "Revert" button happened to work about a week after the problem started. Maybe because of an update to alacarte or something. I'm not really sure.

This is not a bad idea, for people who have my problem in the future. Thanks.
