Ok, so I installed Wine, GTA San Andreas and SA:MP (http://sa-mp.com) multiplayer modification. I followed their tutorial and it actually works.

However, for some reason, it chops of the bottom of the screen when ingame... Is there any way to fix this?

Also, when I quit the game, my desktop is in a really massive resolution and I seem to be unable to set it back without restarting X or logging out and in again.

Also I seem to be having a few issues with FPS (When I enter a graphically busy area of the game)

Other than those, great

does anyone have any solutions for me? :D

KUBUNTU 9.10 K-k

thanks :)

What Wine version (and Winetricks if any) what gfx card & driver version?

Regarding the resolution issue you can change it back either by using the GUI your gfx drivers provide or VIA the display settings under System-> Preferences->Display Settings

Cheers,
~Jeff

Hey. I've done a bit more fiddling and I kind of like the Wine virtual desktop emulator. I use the game in windowed then the res doesn't screw up.

What is winetricks? :|

Its the one in the repo... 1.0.1

I could really do with a FPS boost.... Its running quite slowly. my card is one of those old NVIDIA 5 series. The game runs smooth on windows.

Im using the latest driver (In hardware drivers)

So far, impressed:P

Do you have a good video card, such as NVidia? If you do, is it activated?

Check the link in my sig for some suggestions on getting a bit better frame rate.

Also be sure to update to the latest beta Wine release (http://www.winehq.org/download/deb) - at this point the 1.0.1 packages are very dated and offer slower performance for many things.
