Server troubles

Can anybody tell me why the servers were down so long yesterday, and why there not working normally today. I tried a ping yesterday and it was normal, but today the ping wasn't returned. Was the ping loss on my side or the forum's?

There have been significant server issues behind the scenes. Everyone, including us admins, experienced the same problem. We had to find someone from Canonical's information services team to help out, and that took time.

Things seem to be up and running now, but things are being monitored behind the scenes.

Ping is back to normal as well.
Just out of curiosity, what exactly happened to make the servers bug out?
