I have an old mac (one of those space-pod looking ones). It only has 64 meg of ram. Here's a link to the full specs:

I'm assuming I want xubuntu because of the low system capabilities?

Also, I need the alternate install CD, right?

Can someone post a link for the xubuntu alternate install CD? I can't seen to find it.

And if you have a different version recommendation, let me know.

Thanks everyone.

You will need the Power PC version of Ubuntu: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/releases/karmic/release/ubuntu-9.10-alternate-powerpc.iso

I don't know how much luck you will have with a G3 iMac, but have a look and maybe re post in the Apple Users section: http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=328

Hi Pelee, unfortunately nothing in the Ubuntu family will run on a computer that old. :( The minimum recommendation for Xubuntu is 256mb of ram.

You might find some info on these pages:
http://penguinppc.org/
http://www.debian.org/ports/powerpc/

Frankly I would donate or recycle it, not worth the cost of electricity to keep it running. :) Good luck!
